Blue Magic Jazz quintet is the reflection of this time: modern, urban and ethnic with be-bop and standards influences. For our new album, "a waltz in kobe", we take you all over world from the organic colours of Africa and the Middle East, to the relaxed groove of Brazil and the combined sounds of vintage and modern American Jazz. Organically alive, we are always trying, taking musical risks and searching for new colours and emotions.
We love playing together and this vibe comes across in all of our recordings and concerts!
The cd was recorded for our Japanese tour in Oct '09. The albums' decorative cherry blossoms and title pay homage to the harbour city we love so much.
